A dream that became a goal, finally achieved after 10 years of racing ironman. Yesterday I finished my 18th full ironman in Whistler Canada and to my surprise I was able to win not only my Age group but also the overall race including the female Pro's. It was my first time winning a full ironman.
There's no words to describe what I felt when I realized I was the overall first place, this was after the 5th km of the run when a bike with a "1st place" sign on the front came to me and started following me I just asked "are you following me?? Am I the first place?? Having SO many people cheering made a big difference! Almost every person I passed or ran in the opposite direction would say something to me or clap their hands.
The support of my family out there and being able to share the moment with them was the best thing - it was our accomplishment as a family not only mine @reginavalos had been there since my very first race, she has been part of it all the way and she deserved this win more than anyone, specially now carrying 3 kids around including our oversized baby
